Top 5 things to do in Tirana, Albania with kids

Tirana a is truly unlike any other city on Earth. Colorful. Lively. Chaotic. And never boring. Here are 5 of our favorite things to do with our kids in Tirana.

1. Skanderbeg square

There’s a nice open field to run and play. There are always people out enjoying family time, and relaxing. Take a ride on the two-story carousel. It’s only 100 leke (about $1). Walk the square listening to live music and splash in the fountains. And don’t miss the museum on the square as well.

2. The Artificial Lake

This is probably our favorite place in Tirana. It has something for everyone. Ping pong tables, cafes, basketball courts, food stands with fresh juice, cotton candy, or homemade Albanian fried dough. The view from lake is beautiful as well. You can walk around the whole lake, or continue through the wooded area getting lost in the calm and loveliness that is being just outside the city. You can rent bikes or peddle these fun family bikes around the park. It’s such a lovely place. You can spend hours there.

3. The Taiwan Center

There’s a large field to play, great food, a bowling alley, a small place with amusement park rides, and a great little park for the kids to play. It’s a nice place to spend the afternoon or evening. The lights at night are beautiful as well.

4. Mount Djati

Take the cable car up to the top of the mountain. There’s an adventure park there for the kids. A restaurant with stunning views, hiking, biking, and even paragliding. Basically, you won’t be bored.

5. Cioccolatitaliani Tirana

This place is as much and experience as it is a place to eat. The decor is sleek and classy, but also kid-friendly. The food is seriously great, but the desserts here are an absolute must!

Happy Travels!
